The children experiment with Hapa Zome using a piece of old fabric and natural materials such as grass, fallen leaves or flowers. Moist leaves and grasses work very well. They cover the leaf/flower with the fabric and then use a hammer, a mallet or even a rounded cobble to gently tap. The aim is to crush the plant gently, so the colours are released onto the fabric.
