North Clay Building Addition and Renovations

At the March 20, 2024, North Clay Community Unit School District #25 Regular Meeting of the Board of Education, approval was given to AWARD construction bids regarding (what is being referred to as ) Phase 2 of the overall Renovation and Improvement Project.  "Phase 1" was completed during the summer of 2023 and included a new roof and rooftop HVAC units at the Elementary Building.

This phase (Phase 2) of the Addition and Renovations Project includes addressing the 3 main building needs for the district (as determined through the feedback gathered from the community).  Those 3 areas were (in order of priority from community feedback)  1. Safety and Security;  2. Learning Spaces; and 3. Athletic and Extracurricular Spaces.

The image below is an exterior design concept of the addition and renovation project.  Per the community surveys and town hall discussions held with the board of education, three areas were identified as the greatest needs for the district.  They were:  1.Safety and Security, which includes the connection of the campus with enclosed corridors and a new, more secure, main entry way for the high school;  2.  Learning Spaces, in particular vocational spaces; and 3. Student Activity Spaces, which includes the new event gym, locker rooms and weight room.
