First of all, if you are ever concerned about a serious, possibly life-threatening emergency, don’t hesitate to call 911! It’s always better to be safe than sorry, and the emergency response team (fire/ambulance/police) in your town is there to serve you!
Ideas for other people in your life who can, and probably WANT TO help: Your family members care about you more than you could ever imagine! Parents, siblings (especially older ones), and even grandparents can give you wonderful guidance if you just open up to them about what’s bothering you. You might also turn to a teacher, coach, mentor, neighbor, clergy, or even a friend’s parent for help. Just make sure that the trusted adult you open up to is someone who makes you feel safe!

Alcohol Related Problems:
A-lanon and Alateen- If your life or your family is affected by someone’s drinking, this is a great organization to contact for help. To help them, you have to first help yourself. The phone number is: 1-888-4AL-ANON, and the web address is: https://al-anon.org/newcomers/teen-corner-alateen/ . There are local, anonymous meetings all over the area that you can attend. There are even phone and online meetings! Meeting with other people who are going through similar problems can be very comforting!

NWCASA (Northwest Center Against Sexual Abuse)- Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault (Northwest CASA) is the only full service agency that provides free services to sexual assault survivors and their loved ones within the North and Northwest suburbs of Cook County. StopBullying.gov- Are you being bullied? Do you see bullying at your school? There are things you can do to keep yourself and the kids you know safe from bullying.
