Our Character Focus for March is Cooperation! 

This week we are learning about:

Reading:  

This week we will set reading goals for the 4th nine weeks. We will also prepare for our next reading unit, If... Then:  NonFiction Book Clubs where we will read nonfiction books fully and deeply, learn strategies to hang onto new information and compare and contrast information about topics across texts.   


Social Studies:  

This week we will discuss Historical Figures and their contributions. In Daily Geography, we will be discussing a city map.  

Writing: 

This week we will learn and practice how to add comparisons and use quotations to to support our opinions. 

Phonics: 

In Grammar, we will discuss contractions and how to use apostrophes to write a contraction. 

Math Workshop:

This week, our mathematicians will begin lessons in Module 10 and be learning all about adding three-digit numbers on the number line. We will discuss strategies for adding 3 digit numbers, focusing mainly on the place value strategy.

Science:  

This week we will begin our unit on animals! We will look at the needs of animals, their classifications, & how animals adapt to their environment to help them survive. Over the next three weeks students will get to participate in various labs to understand animal adaptations.
