The following services are provided to the student after successfully enrolling at NIS.
The school offers basic accident insurance for its students, covering 20,000 THB per accident. A doctor’s certificate and receipt should be brought to the Financial Office. Additionally, there is a Dental Plan that includes basic dental work. For more insurance information, please contact the Financial Office.
The school provides lunch and snacks for the Early Childhood Center. Elementary students’ tuition includes free lunch. Middle and High School students may purchase lunch in the designated areas of the canteen. Snacks and refreshments are sold separately in the snack shop.
NIS works with a local school bus company (SWK) to provide daily transportation for students. There is a fee for this service, and most areas of Chiang Mai are covered. For further information, please contact the Main Office. The school secretary will assist you in contacting the bus company.
The primary language of communication at NIS is English. However, we understand some parents of Thai, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese students, need a translator to communicate with the school. For these langauges, translators are available by appointment. Please contact the Main Office to arrange translation services.
Student report cards, transcripts, and other documentation will be released by the registrar upon settlement of tuition fees in full.
Requests for documents such as letters of evidence for travel documentation and official school registration details will be prepared free of charge. School Report Cards and Standardized-Test Results are only available on PowerSchool. Parents must register for a parent account to view their child’s academic records. To register, parents can contact our ICT Department in Building A, Room A209.
High School transcripts are available for collection at the Main Office ten days after the last day of final exams. Three copies will be supplied to each graduate, with additional copies available for a fee of 200 baht per set.
Requests for all documentation must be submitted to the Registrar in the Main Office (053-110-680 Ext. 117 – registrar@nis.ac.th) at least 3 days before collection.
Nakornpayap International School uses an online student information system called PowerSchool. All attendance, schedules, and grades are recorded in this system, including any behavioral or learning issues, accessible only to certain personnel. Unit plans are also available. This information is accessed using a secure username and password provided by the school.
Effective communication is crucial for creating the best possible learning environment. To respond effectively and streamline communication regarding your child, please use the following procedures/options:
Make an appointment with your child’s teacher.
Make an appointment with the appropriate School Section Leader.
Make an appointment with the Student Support Team.
Make an appointment with the appropriate Administrator.
Make an appointment with the Principal.
Confidentiality in these meetings is of the highest priority, including all email correspondences and attachments. Sharing information with parties not involved in the case is considered a breach of confidentiality and will result in repercussions.
Textbooks are provided and the student is responsible for maintaining their condition. If textbooks are damaged, the student will be charged a replacement cost. All textbooks must be returned at the end of the school year in good condition.
The Library is an important resource at NIS for study, research, and reading enjoyment. After school, students are encouraged to use the Library for study, reading, or homework. The following rules apply:
Use of computers, networks, and the Internet is for educational purposes only, adhering to the Acceptable Use Policy.
Library privileges may be lost and disciplinary action may be taken if rules are not observed:
Work quietly and respect others' time and workspace.
Follow directions given by library staff.
Behave courteously and respect property.
Return books to their proper places.
No food, beverages, sleeping, or excessive noise.
No mobile phone use.
Library hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Closed during lunch; supervision required for student access.
The Nurse’s Office provides first aid to students who become ill or injured during school hours. All nurses are licensed and certified. In serious cases, parents will be notified or students transported to a medical facility. The Nurse’s Office is for legitimate purposes only; misuse will be assessed by the nurse. Maximum time in the office is 15 minutes unless stated otherwise. For readmission to class, students need a note from the Nurse’s Office. Absences are excused, but missed work must be made up. Students returning from contagious diseases need a doctor’s note.
NIS offers free counseling and guidance services. Confidential counseling is available for social and emotional issues. Parents are informed of any causes for concern.
Students receive assigned lockers for books and personal items.
Must provide their own lock.
Must not share lockers.
Must notify the main office and homeroom teacher before changing lockers.
Must keep the locker clean, no food or drink.
Must not write on the locker with permanent markers.
Must report issues to the homeroom teacher for immediate attention.
NOTE: Locker searches may occur if there is a cause for concern.
Avoid bringing large amounts of money or valuables to school. Items should be kept secure; the school is not responsible for lost or damaged items. Unclaimed items are donated to charity.
Maintain order and cleanliness in the canteen:
Wait in line.
Eat in designated areas only.
No fights or theft.
No food or equipment removal.
Clean up and return items.
Keep tables clean.
Dispose of trash properly.
Use appropriate language and volume.
Maintain common areas for studying and socializing:
Speak English.
Set a good example.
Use appropriate language.
No littering; dispose of trash.
Do not level personal items in common areas. Personal items should be stored in designated areas.
Respect staff instructions.
Respect others.
To ensure proper security of the campus, the following regulations will be enforced:
Middle & High School students must carry their student ID cards at all times.
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure he/she has all equipment and/or materials needed before going home or to an activity or practice;
The gym, fitness room, canteen, and other common areas are not to be used as personal storage space. Lockers are provided.
After athletic practices, students should wait for rides home at the School Entrance.
Students who are not involved in after-school sports, clubs, or activities must be picked up by parent/guardian by 3:30 PM. Supervision is not available beyond this time.
Unsupervised students are not allowed in the common areas (i.e. fields, playgrounds, canteen, sitting areas, etc.) after 3:30 PM. Students who are in these areas must be under the supervision and direction of a coach or club teacher.
Students are not allowed into the buildings or on school grounds during the evening hours or on weekends unless directly supervised by a teacher/coach/or non-teaching staff member who must also be present.
Being in an unauthorized area constitutes a major violation of school rules.
The use of the gymnasium is limited to times when a faculty member is present.
Students may use the Fitness Room only after obtaining the permission of the Athletic Director on each occasion.
Usage of the Dance Room must be obtained from the dance teacher.
Under no circumstances are students allowed to enter the swimming pool or locker room areas unless attending swim class, or swim club, or have specific permission.
Only students, teachers and staff are allowed on the campus. Everyone else is a visitor. Visitors must obtain permits and a Visitor’s Pass. The pass must be visible at all times. Non-students without an appointment or pass may be denied entry or removed.
High School elections follow the Student Council Constitution. The council plans events aligned with the school mission and promotes school spirit, inclusiveness, and community service. Faculty advisors provide guidance.
