At Nakornpayap International School, we recognize the importance of students being able to communicate with their parents during the school day. Phone use is only allowed at these times.
Before and after school.
High school students may also use their phones during breaks and lunch.
However, the use of cell phones and other electronic devices became a significant disruption in classrooms last year. Activities such as text messaging, phone calls, and playing electronic games interfere with learning and waste valuable instructional time.
To ensure an effective learning environment, the NIS Cell Phone Policy will be strictly enforced by all teachers. Students are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:
During instructional time, cell phones and all other electronic devices must be TURNED OFF and put away or collected by the teacher at the start of the class.
Any non-instructional use of an electronic device in the classroom or educational settings, such as school assemblies, will result in immediate confiscation and a disciplinary referral to the Administration. No warnings will be given.
The consequences for violating this policy are as follows:
1st offense: Device confiscated until the end of the class.
2nd offense: Device confiscated until the end of the day.
3rd offense: Device confiscated until the end of the day, followed by a parent-teacher conference.
4th offense: Behavior probation.
Students who defy school personnel will be referred to the Administration.
Nakornpayap International School is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced cell phones or other electronic devices. Students who refuse to comply with this policy will face additional disciplinary actions.
