As a member of the Chiang Mai Athletic Conference (CMAC), Nakornpayap International School (NIS) adheres to a comprehensive Athletic Code of Conduct for all student-athletes. This code must be signed by both student-athletes and their parents/guardians at the start of the school year. The expectations for NIS student-athletes include the following:
Respect: Show respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials at all times.
Punctuality: Arrive on time for all practices, games, and team activities.
Attendance: Attend all scheduled practices and games unless prior arrangements have been made with the coach at least one day in advance.
Preparation: Be prepared with the necessary equipment and mindset for all practices and games.
Representation: Represent the NIS community and athletic program positively both on and off the field/court, including in classrooms and on social media.
Sportsmanship: Demonstrate good sportsmanship during all practices and games.
Academics: Maintain good academic standing and avoid academic probation.
Behavior: Adhere to the NIS Student Behavior Code at all times.
Team Contracts: Follow the specific contracts for individual teams (JV and Varsity) and comply with Athletic Eligibility requirements (MS/HS).
NIS coaches have the authority to manage playing time based on attendance, attitude, and performance. They also have the right to enforce discipline in line with the Student Behavior Code. Additionally, the Athletic Director has the authority to remove a student-athlete from a team if necessary. JV and Varsity teams are required to adhere to individual team contracts provided by their coaches at the start of each season.
All Nakornpayap International School (NIS) Middle School and High School student-athletes must meet specific athletic eligibility requirements to participate on an NIS sports team. The requirements for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:
The student-athlete is placed on academic probation.
Bi-weekly check-ins with the athletic director are required to monitor academic progress.
The student-athlete may continue to practice with the team but is not permitted to compete in games, matches, or tournaments until at least one of the failing grades is resolved.
Weekly check-ins with the athletic director are required to discuss academic progress.
The student-athlete is removed from the team immediately.
An exit meeting with the athletic director is conducted following the dismissal.
Note: Students removed from a team due to grades, attendance, or behavior issues will be banned from competing in athletics the following season.
Supervision ends at 3:30 P.M. After this time, students must be with a teacher, coach, or staff member for activities. Disciplinary action may apply to unsupervised students.
