Computer Lab

4/26/2020

Dear Parents of Nimitz Second Graders,

During the school year, part of your child’s weekly lesson in the computer lab was learning to keyboard (type) using the touch type method of typing. The final assignments your child will receive from me this school year will be a simple review of the keyboard. If your child would like to continue practicing his/her keyboarding skills he/she may want to go to the following site: Bitesize

Thank you for your patience and help throughout this very different school year. Please let your child know that I enjoyed and miss working with him/her.

Stay safe and healthy.

Best,

Karen Seward

Dear Parents,

I am hoping all is well with you and your family and that you are finding a routine that includes both learning and fun for your child.

In my previous post I suggested that students view Common Sense’s video on how students can be safe, responsible and respectful online. Common Sense is the nation's leading independent non-profit organization dedicated to empowering kids to thrive in a world of media and technology. I hope your child had a chance to watch the videos and you had a chance to discuss its content. Last week Common Sense debuted Wide Open School, a collection of online learning experiences and activities for children curated by the editors at Common Sense and organized by grade levels and subject.

I would like to encourage you to access this site and have your children enjoy the variety of learning activities the editors have put together.

Best,

Karen Seward
