Congratulations 6th Graders!

Dear 6th Grade Parents & Guardians,

In addition to the virtual ceremony, which will be posted on the Nimitz COVID Parent Resource Page (bit.ly/NESCOVIDParentResourceSite), the 6th grade teachers and administration would like to honor this special day by having a drive-thru lei and gift presentation on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 between 9:00-11:00 am. Please note, our original plan for this day is to also give the student graduation certificate. However, due to pandemic related delays, we may not be able to have those ready by Wednesday. Nonetheless, we’d like to use this time as an opportunity to provide closure and a celebration for our 6th grade students’ achievement.

Upon coming into our driveway, the drive-thru presentation will include a moment for teachers to provide a lei and a gift to their students, and an area where a photo opportunity is possible (see map). Our school graduation banner and greenery will be provided, so it is recommended you dress appropriately. Each student will be allowed to come outside to take a picture with their family, while pictures with staff members must be taken with social distancing measures in place.

Since there will be many families coming to take advantage of this opportunity, we ask that you please come with one vehicle per student, to be patient with other families, and to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines. We are excited to see and celebrate with your child on their special day.
