Research management
The research management team at Norfolk and Waveney ICB has two core functions - management and oversight of NIHR research grants held by the ICB, and supporting set-up and governance arrangements for research taking place in primary, community and wider health and care settings.

Study set up
We provide advice and guidance on whether projects meet the definition of research (as per the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care), on approval requirements and processes, Letters of Access or Honorary Research Contracts, and provide assurance that the research has all national and regional arrangements in place.
We work with the Research and Development Team at NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB to offer support for research in primary care and wider community settings across the entire CRN East of England footprint. We also provide R&D office support for the Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust and the East Coast Community Healthcare CIC via Service Level Agreements.
Grant management
We provide oversight and financial management for NIHR grants held by NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB.
