• Level 1 and Level 2 - The scheme is now Level based, with differing KPIs and funding amounts, to support sites wanting to grow the amount of research they are delivering at their sites.

• Record Keeping - Practice maintains their ‘Research Activity Record’ (accessed by the RDN and Site) and ensures this is updated at least monthly. This document will also assist in supporting the monitoring process and where applicable the application of Service Support Costs. Therefore to ensure timely payments of such monies please ensure to update these documents regularly.

Applications are now open for each of the 2 Levels and can be accessed by clicking on the relevant Level below. Applications will close at 5pm on Monday 31st March 2025 - no applications will be accepted after this time.

Practices can apply on their own or as a collaboration. (Collaboration is defined as Dental practices Or Community Dental Sites applying for the scheme together as one collaborative partnership and are recognised on the RSI scheme as one site. Each practice may still have its own individual responsibilities, but the collaboration allows for shared resources, expertise, and a collective approach to delivering research initiatives. KPIs will be met as a collective rather than as individual sites Eg. If a Level 2 practice is made up of a collaboration of 2 sites there need only be one Research Lead and 1 Study completed at each site. Whereas if the sites each applied for Level 2 separately then the expectation would be that each site has a designated research lead and completes 2 studies each)
