Web publishers should follow this checklist when reviewing content submitted for approval in Drupal.
Has the editor followed the guidance for Creating and editing web content?
Check:
spelling and grammar
readability: is content written in plain English? What is the readability grade on the Hemmingway editor? We are aiming for 9-10
style guide: does it follow the NIHR style guide? Common things to check include ensuring all numbers are written as digits, overuse of capitals, correct punctuation on bullet points and overuse of initialisms and brackets.
accessibility: does the content conform to WCAG 2.2 AA?
links: do they work? are they descriptive? do they link to the node ID? do they have the appropriate styling? eg arrowed link style for important links or use of the Call to Action component in Drupal
Content type: confirm the correct content type is selected for the webpage
Tags / taxonomy: if relevant, ensure the right tags have been added from the taxonomy, so it can be found by users on filtered lists
Linkings: how will people get to this page? Do you need to link to this content from another page? Have you linked to other relevant content?
Where will the user go when they have finished reading your content? Ensure there is a user journey and the content is not orphaned or duplicates information already on the website
URL: does the default url accurately reflect where the page needs to sit in the site? This only applies to static content pages. Contact your website administrator or Business Product Owner to change it
Revision notes: add notes to help editors see what needs to be changed, if anything
Workflow: follow any established workflow processes for content approval and publishing
Scheduling: the scheduling on the site is not directly to the minute. The update script runs every 5-10 minutes. For example, if you schedule something to go live at 11:00, it may not appear on the site until 11:10.
Review: once the page is live, review it to confirm everything appears as expected
Monitor: Track page performance using analytics to identify any areas for improvement
