We use Google Analytics on the NIHR website to monitor website performance, review website usage and plan improvements.
The NIHR live dashboard gives an overview of key performance on our website. It pulls data in from Google Analytics and Google Search Console and presents it in various dashboards. You can get stats for a particular page and change the date range to get the stats you need:

Use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to evaluate campaigns, user journeys and website performance.
Log in to Google Analytics. For stats:

Use Hotjar to gain further insight into user behaviour and identify areas for improvement.
Through Hotjar you can:
view heatmaps - analyse specific pages
recordings - view how users navigate through the site
surveys - get feedback from users on particular pages (speak to a Website Content Manager)
user interviews - set up and manage user testing interviews (speak to a Website Content Manager)

UTMs allow us to track how many people click on that specific link, and therefore get more detailed information on whether people are coming to our website from the different platforms we are using.
