Kindergarten Registration 2023-2024 School Year:
Kindergarten Pre-Registration for the Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools will begin on February 6, 2023 and end of June 9, 2023 for any students who turn the age of five (5) before August 1, 2023 and wish to attend Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools. This is a multi-stage registration procedure. Please follow the guidelines below:
Check to make sure your address is within the boundaries of the Newton Falls Exempted Village School district but using the website finder.com. If you do not live within the boundaries, you could still apply for Open Enrollment. Please contact the district’s central office for details about Open Enrollment before proceeding. Open Enrollment must be approved before the registration process begins.
Gather the documentation that is required by the Ohio Revised Code to keep permanent records on each registered student. These documents include the following:
Proof of Birth (Birth Certificate or equivalent)
Immunization Records of the Child
Proof of residency and/or Affidavit of Shared Residency Form (if applicable), Affidavit of Shared Residency must be notarized and are good for 1 year.
Any applicable court documents. These are needed when, the biological mother is not registering the child and would include the following:
Child is not living with the biological mother at her residence shown in the proof of residency.
The Biological mother and father were never married and the biological father is registering. Court documentation must show the father has parental rights.
If the child is living with the grandparents who reside within the school district, a Grandparent affidavit should be filed with the courts.
Once you have gathered ALL of your documentation, CLICK HERE to schedule an appointment with the Newton Falls Elementary Building to begin the registration process. After all documentation has been reviewed and collected, you will receive a scheduled appointment for Kindergarten Screening which will take place on August 10, 2023.
To finalize your child’s registration information, you will need to fill out registration and contact forms on Final Forms. Specific Kindergarten Pre-Registration Final Forms Documentation has been put together to guide you through the Final Forms process. If you are comfortable with this process, you can start working in Final Forms after you have collected all of your documentation and before you attend your registration appointment.
