Dear Families,
We started off our Life Cycles topic with our book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which the children really love! We have begun to look at the different stages of the butterfly life-cycle. We have completed a range of caterpillar themed activities including drawing caterpillars. The children really enjoyed making fruit kebabs using the fruits from the story.

The children enjoyed listening to the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. They also had lots of opportunities to make their own caterpillars, and to create their own stories!

Activities to try at home this weekend
Try out one or both of these activities with your child this weekend. Please send us any photos you take or bring your child's learning into school - we'd love the see them!
Life cycle of the butterfly
We have been learning about the life cycle of the butterfly. Can you make your own life cycle using food and natural resources, or something else? We would love to see some pictures!
Make up your own song
We have been changing the words to well-known songs and making our own songs. Can you make up your own song to the tune of a song you know well eg. Twinkle Twinkle and send us the video?
Noticeboard
Coats
As the weather gets progressively colder and wetter, we ask you to please make sure your child brings a coat to school. Again, PLEASE label all your child's clothing, especially school uniform. You can purchase a relatively cheap permanent laundry marker from Amazon.
If your child is still finding it tricky to put their coat on independently, how about trying the above "Dip and Flip" method? Please encourage your child to be as independent as possible.
