Community-Based Partnerships

New Heights chose the Center for Supportive Schools (CSS) as its lead community-based organization (CBO) to collaborate on a shared vision and to implement the overall Community School Strategy.  CSS provides support in implementing peer leadership, advisory, school operations support, and other evidence-based K-12 solutions that enable and inspire schools to more fully engage scholars in learning. Signature program offerings include Peer Group Connection (PGC) and Achievement Mentoring (AM).

College Access for All: Middle School As a participating school, New Heights Middle School scholars participate in campus visits and parent workshops focused on planning for high school and college.

Health and Wellness

Interborough Developmental and & Consultation Center provides licensed clinical care to children in need of these services. In addition to being convenient for children seeking care, it helps relieve some of the stigma associated with mental illness.

Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework for improving and integrating all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. It is a way to support everyone – especially students with disabilities – to create the kinds of schools where all students are successful. This program implementation is tied to the New Heights' Core Value System.

STARI Intervention actively engages students in discussions of cognitively challenging content aligned to the Common Core and other 21st century standards.  This service will provide support to assist your child in reaching his/her academic potential, building critical thinking skills, and achieving common core expectations.

Ramapo for Children is built on the simple belief that all young people want the same things: to learn, to feel valued for who they are and to experience success. The Ramapo Toolbox helps adults see challenging behaviors through the lens of unmet needs and lagging skills, and provides a set of strategies to help young people align their behaviors with their aspirations.

Teaching Matters is a national professional learning organization dedicated to increasing teacher effectiveness, a critical factor in student success.
