New Heights believes our scholars' success begins with successful engagement with families. Our goal is to support families by providing multiple pathways for families to partner with the school community. We seek to provide authentic involvement opportunities in school-wide initiatives.

Academic Support
Scholars and their parents/caregivers are able to sign in to the NYC DOE portal in order to view grades that are updated on a weekly basis in alignment with our school's 2023-2024 Grading Policy (Click here to view). To learn more about the Grading platform, please visit the Academics Page.

The Value of Family Power
Families are the experts in most matters concerning their children. Family Power is unleashed when educators work in collaboration with parents. As partners, families, and educators together are able to create the best possible results for children.

Family Events
New Heights host monthly events to build the bridge between home and school. Previous events included: dinners, musicals, and celebratory events.
Family Workshops
New Heights hosts monthly workshops to build the bridge between home and school. Previous events included: resource fairs, houding workshops, and online forums
Family Meetings
New Heights creates multiple pathways for families to stay informed on academic progress. We host annual Scholar Led Conferences, Parent Engagement Hours, and Grade Level Team Conferences.
Family Leadership
New Heights provides multiple opportunities for the family to engage with the school. Opportunities available include: School Leadership Team, Parent Teacher Association, and Community School Team.
Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)
The New Heights Middle School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meets at 6:00 pm on the second Thursday of each month via Zoom. Please refer to the school calendar for any changes.
