In Year 7, students study English through a thematic approach. We have tried to make the curriculum for Year 7 as engaging as we can and we make sure it builds on their knowledge from primary school. We study themes such as: Myths and Legends, Heroes and Villains, War and Conflict and Frightening and Fearful.

We promote a love of reading in Year 7 and Year 8 through our Accelerated Reader programme where students read a book of their choice that is suited to their ability. We also have Class Reader lessons where we read exciting books such as Coraline and Midsummer Night's Dream to complement our thematic

curriculum. The aim of our Year 7 curriculum is to make sure our students have an enjoyable experience that is also challenging and pushes our students to their full potential.
