When is the first day for Year 7 new starters?
The first day of term for September 2022 is Monday 5th September.
What are the times of the academy day?
All students should be in school at 8:15am prompt. A movement bell will sound at 8:20am.
Period 1 : 8.25am – 9.25am
Period 2: 9.25am – 10:25am
Break / VMG – 10:25am –11:00am
Period 3: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Period 4: 12:00pm – 12:30pm
Lunch : 12:30pm – 1:00pm
Period 4: 1:00pm – 1:30pm
Period 5: 1:30pm – 2:30pm
Enrichment: 2:30pm – 3:30pm
What are the lunchtime arrangements for Year 7?
Year 7 students have their lunch as a year group, between 12:30pm and 1:00pm. This ensures there is minimal queuing time and that they can eat together in their first year at the academy. The catering provided by the academy operates a cashless biometrics system. Students can add money to their account using finger recognition stations at the academy. Alternatively, students are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
Uniform
To receive the academy provision of uniform, your order must be placed by Sunday 22nd May 2022 .
Once Trutex have received your orders, the named uniform bundles will be delivered to the Academy for you to collect.
The collection dates for your academy are:
Distribution dates – Thursday 21st July 2022
Exchange dates – Monday 1st August 2022
Please be aware that this process will only be for the order of your free uniform bundle and additional uniform that you wish to buy will need to be purchased from Trutex online or a local stockist as usual. We also ask that parents purchase plain black shoes as well as non- marking trainers for PE.

Jewellery, hair and makeup – are there any do’s and don’ts?
No jewellery is allowed, except a wrist watch and a Medic Alert necklace or bracelet. No body piercings, including ear, nose and belly button, are allowed.
No nail polish and no false nails.
Any make-up worn by older students should be very discreet. Students are asked to remove make-up if it is not discreet.
Hairstyles should be sensible and colours should be natural. No student will be allowed into lessons with unnatural hair colour. Hair accessories should be discreet, no scarves or bandanas (unless for religious reasons.)
