Connecting
Windows 10
Download and install openvpvn
a. Go to https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/
b. Download and install Windows 64-bit MSI installer (or choose other options depending on the local device )
c. Check the system tray usually at the bottom right corner for the “OpenVPN GUI”
2. Connect to *.ovpn profile provided by AERPAW OPs.
a. Right Click “OpenVPN GUI” item in the system tray and select Import -> Import file… and point the ovpn file provided by AERPAW OPs
b. Right Click “OpenVPN GUI” item in the system tray and select “Connect”. If you have more than one ovpn profile, point to the file you imported and select “Connect”.
3. Remote connection to AERPAW Windows Device for RF Sensor
a. Launch Remote Desktop Connection: In the search box on the taskbar, type Remote Desktop Connection, and then select Remote Desktop Connection.
b. Click on “Show Options” in the lower left corner and type “192.168.21.12” for “Computer” and “RFSensorUser” for the “User Name”.
c. When asked type the password provided by AERPAW Operators for the requested credentials.
d. If you receive the warning below, choose “Yes”
4. You are now connected to the remote AERPAW Windows device..
Ubuntu 18.04
1. Follow “Establishing VPN Connection” section in the User Manual Section 4.7.5.
2. Install the necessary packages
sudo apt install x11-apps freerdp2-x11 freerdp2-shadow-x11
3. Connect to the remote AERPAW Windows device using (Replace [password] with the password you obtained from AERPAW Ops)
xfreerdp /f /u:RFSensorUser /p:[password] /v:192.168.21.12
Experimenting
Once connected user can try our sample RF Sensor experiments KRSE1, KRSE2, and KRSE3.
Notes:
1) The Surveyour 4D software can not be launched remotely using Remote Desktop Connection due to licensing issues. Please use AnyDesk instructions here to launch the Surveyour 4D software.
2) Important: When the computer restarts the device deletes all the files generated by the users and restores to its initial state. You need to save any files before you log out otherwise they will be lost.
