The assignment that best demonstrates my ability to design, implement, and evaluate technology-rich professional learning programs is the Open Network training on Lumio I conducted. My partner and I chose Lumio because we had never experienced this technology before and were eager to learn and implement its uses. We approached the training design by dividing it into two parts. The first part involved an introductory guided walk-through orientation to familiarize participants with the interface. The second part focused on user experience and pedagogical aspects of instruction, such as collaboration and a constructivist approach. The quantity and quality of the content presented were robust and continued to expand as more potent elements were exemplified. Those features include lesson integration, resource importing, lesson design, interactive activities, and gamification.
Additionally, several ONLE instructional strategies are applied to this training, but the main three are Mobile Learning, Cloud Computing, and Game-Based Learning. Lastly, the trainees were given a feedback survey to complete about their experience in the training session. My partner and I then reflected and self-evaluated, focusing on what aspects were successful and which needed improvement to better serve learners through professional development in the future.
Continuous learning is best exemplified in the chapter I co-authored for the class project of designing, writing, and creating the Ebook titled Collaborative Learning Technology and Applications: Learning in the Digital Age. Learning is inherent when the process of researching, documenting, and organizing pertinent information occurs. Especially when for the purpose of becoming a content expert to make a meaningful digitally published academic contribution. This project's leadership and management skills were gained through the constant consideration of the future reader. I found myself writing, re-writing, and editing the content numerous times, processing how to deliver information to the audience best. This project deepened my knowledge of the foundations and theory, instructional strategies, designs, and developments of ONLE and PLE. Additionally, it furthered my understanding of the value of inherent learning that occurs through creating teaching resources such as this one.
The assignment that pushed me to evaluate, reflect, and synthesize my work and research to improve my professional practice is the Pedagogical InfoDoc I created on TeachersPayTeachers(TpT). I began by researching TpT's influence and impact on the educational community. I focused on how pedagogical practices are influenced by teachers having new ideas and resources. Upon reflection on all my acquired research, synthesizing began. I boiled the content down to what I considered the most fascinating and valuable information. I considered a perspective reader unfamiliar with TpT and thus curated the details to inform them best. Due to the precise formatting of this document, it became crucial to use the correct number of words and choose the use of space wisely. Adjusting the content to the required configuration initiated a loop of editing and re-editing numerous times to get it right, which was accomplished.
