How to meet with Ms. Ana (College & Career Specialist)

Students can stop by Ms. Ana's Office in A106 during lunch or after school.  Students can also send Ms. Ana a message via StudentSquare to request an appointment during class time.  Ms. Ana will work with students to coordinate the best time to meet.  Also visit the Upcoming Events section of this website to see when Ms. Ana will provide Office Hours in the atrium for students to stop by.

SAT Testing (SPRING 2024)

We will be offering SAT Testing at Inderkum High School on Wednesday March 20th.  NUSD pays for the opportunity for 11th graders to take the SAT during the school day.  Please fill out the OPT IN form by Friday February 16th to register for the test.   You must bring a fully charged NUSD Chromebook on testing day.  Loaner Chromebooks will not be available.  Reach out to Ms. Mercado at vmercado@natomasunified.org with any questions.

How should students decide where to go to college or what career path they are interested in pursuing?

Every year at Inderkum, students will be given the opportunity to learn more about themselves and their interests through our College and Career lessons.  By exploring areas of interest, students will gain a better understanding of the careers that are tied to their interests/skills and research what it takes to enter those careers.  By their Junior year, they should be ready to discover the schools that provide majors for their future careers and develop a college list for the Fall of their Senior Year.  Counselors work closely with our College and Career Specialist, Ms. Ana Garcia, to get students ready to accomplish their post secondary educational goals when they leave Inderkum.  Click on the image to the right to take an Interest Profiler Assessment to begin this journey.

Why do we want our students to be a-g eligible??

At Inderkum High School, we encourage our students to complete a-g requirements in order for them to have the most options when they reach their senior year of high school and are ready to pursue the next step in their education or career path.  The primary difference in graduation versus a-g requirements is that students must receive a "C" or higher in all of their a-g coursework, achieve a minimum of 2 years of a world language, and successfully complete Math 3 by their senior year.  Counselors provide students with the option of retaking any D or F coursework each summer.  Please review the various College Options we will explore with every student.
