MYAP (Multi Year Academic Planner)

Your MYAP is the primary driver for your course selection each year.  Counselors come into classrooms at various times of the year to help students understand the long term impact of the courses they select based on what their future plans are.  Counselors spend 2 days in your classrooms.  Day 1 is to provide general information.  Day 2 is to sit down with each student individually to update the Academic Planning section in Infinite Campus.  It is important for students to understand that the courses entered in the Academic Planning section of Infinite Campus will eventually become your Course Requests.

Take a look at the 4 Year Planning Guide to the left to get an idea of the pattern of courses students can take each year at Inderkum.  For more specific information related to the courses offered at Inderkum, please refer to the Course Catalog below.

Frequently Asked Questions regarding Schedules

Q: What if I change my mind about a class after I have updated my Academic Planner in IC and have locked in the courses with my Counselor?

A: No problem, simply contact your Counselor and let them know that you have changed your mind.  They will make the change for you.  This must take place before the last day of school.

Q: When is the last day to request to drop an AP/IB/Advanced Course?

A: In order to guarantee that you will not have to take an AP/IB/Advanced course if you have one in your Academic Planner, you should ask your Counselor to remove the course from your requests by the end of the current school year.  Once the new school year begins, we can no longer drop you from an AP/IB/Advanced course without having you go through the drop process.  This includes completing a form with your parent/guardian and having all requests reviewed by our Counseling Department Team with approval by our Principal.

Q: Can I change my schedule if I want a different teacher, a class during a different period, or lunch at a different time?

A: NO, these are not allowable schedule changes.  Our schedule is very full each year and we cannot honor these requests.

Q: Can I change my elective(s) once the school year begins?

A: Maybe.  Each year, we have a one week period in which students are allowed to submit a request to change their elective class(es).  We review all requests to determine if there will be space for the changes to be granted.  If your request is approved, you will be notified by your Counselor by email.

Q: What if I want to be a Teacher's Assistant (TA) or Office Assistant (OA)?

A: Students are eligible to be a TA or OA if they are a-g eligible, have good attendance, and have room in their schedule.  You can pick up a TA form from your Counselor, who will verify that you meet these requirements.
