ViP - Online Classes

ViP is NUSD's Virtual Instruction Program for students that choose to complete their courses online rather than in-person or for students who want the flexibility of having a hybrid schedule with some classes online and some in-person.  Each student's needs should be discussed with a Counselor prior to enrollment in the program to ensure that the program is a good fit.  Please watch the Orientation Video if you are considering enrolling in the program.

A majority of courses offered through ViP are in an APEX format, meaning that students self-pace through all of the modules of work for a particular subject area.  Students do not receive teacher-led instruction in this program, however teachers are available to check-in with students to answer questions and provide support during their posted office hours or by individual appointments.  See below for a basic tutorial for accessing APEX courses as well as the attendance requirements for ViP.

Students must demonstrate academic success to remain in the ViP program.  Students who do not pass at least 60% of their coursework during a semester, will be asked to return to in-person instruction.

Once approved for ViP, students will work with ViP Counselor Alexa De La Cruz and the ViP teaching staff through the duration of their enrollment.
