The following verses show that Jesus is God.
1. Jesus said He is God:
a) "For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God." (John 5:18)
b) "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'" (John 8:58)
The name "I am" is YHWH, given by God to Moses and the Israelites:
"God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” " (Exodus 3:14).
Jesus saying He is "I am" is saying He is God.
c) Jesus said: "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him... He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:7,9).
2. Scripture says Jesus is God.
a) "God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they." (Hebrews 1:1-4)
Jesus always existed. He is God the Son, through whom God the Father made the world.
b) "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. " (Colossians 2:8-12)
When Jesus came to earth, the fullness of God dwells in bodily form.
c) "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)
Jesus was prophesied to be called "Mighty God".
d) The disciple Thomas called Jesus God:
"Then He said to Thomas, 'Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.' Thomas answered and said to Him, 'My Lord and my God!' Jesus said to him, 'Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.'" (John 20:27-29)

e) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it... And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:1-5, 14).
Jesus is also called the Word. And the Word was God.
Only God can atone for the sins of all of humanity.
We don't worship a mere human being. We worship God. Jesus is God.
He came in bodily form to be like us in order to be our Mediator, and to die for us so that we can be reconciled to the Father.
3. Jesus does not consider Himself equal with the Father, because He is the Son of God. No child makes himself equal with his parent. That is dishonoring to the parent. Therefore, Jesus says the Father is greater than Him in rank (John 14:28). It does not mean Jesus is not deity.
4. Jesus is fully God and fully man, because He is called the Son of God and the Son of Man.
"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God." (Mark 1:1)
"Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God." (1 John 4:15)
"Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory." (Mark 13:26)
