It is important to meet with other believers in Christ.
First, it is a command from God. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another ...".
Second, you can encourage one another and worship God together. You can learn from each other.
So meeting with other believers is important. Because it is a command of God to meet with other believers, we should do so.
However, we should listen to God's word, the Bible, as the foundation of all we do. If anyone (including those in the church) contradicts God's word, we should not listen.
So try to find a church that:
1. Teaches the word of God and holds the Bible as the ultimate authority. The Bible is the inerrant word of God.
2. The church should believe Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and physically rose from the dead. We are saved by believing He took the punishment for our sins in our place.
3. The church should teach people to not sin and encourage people to do good. If we say we believe, but act like non-Christians, then we haven't truly believed at all. We should act according to our belief. We should learn to not be hypocrites, because "even the demons believe and shudder" (James 2:20).
4. The church should believe that God is in three Persons (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit).
Try to go to a church that holds to these doctrines, and does not contradict the Bible or minimize its authority. May God help you find a good church.
If you cannot find a good church, you can gather some believers and meet at home, and study the Bible and worship together.
