Standard 1 Visionary and Leadership.
Standard 1 Visionary and Leadership.
Leadership MEDT 8463
MEDT 8463: Issues in Instructional Technology
Artifact Title: engage
Description of Artifact: This artifact is a representation of leadership transformation.
Annotation: This artifact represents standard 1 visionary Leadership by displaying the directions that indicate how the transformation of command is followed by motivation. This is a good example of how leadership is related and how it addresses the outcome of the standard by showing the connections and steps to take when it involved the learning outcome for the students.
A challenge I face in creating these artifacts are finding the right images for the standard, and once that was completed, everything else was aligned with the standards. In addition, this artifact demonstrates intrinsically motivated individuals who are willing to take the necessary steps to achieve their goals.
Rationale for the Artifact is the transformation to leadership that leads to idealized influences which motivate individual consideration.
Artifact 2 Clark & Kozma Debate Paper
MEDT 8463: Issues in Instructional Technology
Artifact Title: CLARK & KOZMA DEBATE PAPER
Description of Artifact: This paper will show different opinions on how media and technology play when it comes to students' learning outcomes. The research started in 1983 when Clark first introduce his theory on media was a vehicle and doesn't have any influence on students learning, however, Kozma has a different theory on his opinion about issues in instructional technology.
Annotation: The debate between Clark & Kozma on their opinion about technology in education has been going on for years. Clark 1983 publish a review that media doesn't have any influence on learning. This was a very strong position that he had stood by for over thirty years. As you read the debate paper, it will demonstrate the viewpoints of both men.
Challenge that I had was to decide on who I wanted to believe and based on rationale reasons I believed that instructions were the main source of establishing the objectives for learning and media is used as a vehicle to deliver those instructions. Clark, 1983,p 445).
Rationale: I think that the rational reason for media is true because media doesn't create the learning intention of any subject.
Reflection on Standard 1: How has my work above impacted (or will impact) my professional practice? My work involving issues in instructional technology has prepared me to do research when it comes to validating opinions on different learning styles, and how instructions are delivered in order for students to have a good outcome. When it comes to standards, in my opinion, as long that the objectives are aligned with those state and national standards these are what really matters when it comes to presenting a good learning outcome. I think that these artifacts have demonstrated my knowledge and skills in this particular area. In addition, the artifacts serve as tools when it comes to learning and sharing opinions on different topics.
