The basis for the apprenticeship course is the Diagnostic Radiography Apprenticeship standard. This standard is available on-line. In addition the Health Care Professional Council standards of proficiency and the Society of Radiographers with the College of Radiographers standards of practice, are incorporated into the apprenticeship.
The course is delivered in a mixture of learning blocks, workplace blocks and sometimes additional placements. Note the weeks you are engaging in learning and which weeks you are on the job/at work. See the BB homepage for access to the document.
In the weeks that you are back at work, you will have 1 day a week as a study day (the 20% off the job). You can use this day to work on:
work-based tasks that we set and may be linked to certain modules
collaborate remotely on group presentations (using e.g. google slides)
work on assignments
You need to negotiate how this day fits in with your work with your employer. Your work-based mentor will support you with this.
