The HPMS Needs Pantry items have been donated by PTO, HP families, and other local community partners for students in need. This resource should be utilized for students and families who may not have any other access to food, clothing, or other basic needs. Please keep in mind that our Pantry will have a limited capacity of resources that will be available on a first come first serve basis until additional donations are received. Please see the HPMS Basic Needs Pantry details below:
Who: Sandra Holzer is the HP staff overseeing the Pantry (ext. 5111)
Where: The Pantry is located in the Focus Room (C202A)
How: Students can access the Pantry items through teacher referral or self-referral.
When: Pantry Hours are 7:45 AM - 3:00 PM (during lunch or during class with a pass)
What: The following basic need items will be made available in the Pantry:
Meal & snack items such as Cup of Noodle, can soup, beef jerky, protein bars, protein shakes, chips, juice etc,
Hygiene products, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
Backpacks and other school supplies
Clothing Items - limited sizes available at this time
Students who use the HP Basic Needs Pantry Frequently will be followed up with to ensure that there are not additional needs being unmet.
Packs for kids
Packs for Kids, a non-profit program to feed children in the Mukilteo School District on the weekends during the school year. Packs for Kids is designed for students to receive a backpack or bag filled with non-perishable food on Friday to support their families through the weekend. Eligibility for free- or reduced-priced school meals benefits is based on any one of these three things:
your total household income and size in the month the application is filled out, or the month before, or
your child's individual status as foster, homeless, migrant, or runaway, or
participation in an assistance program by any member of your household
Your US citizenship or immigration status does NOT affect your eligibility for free- or reduced-priced school meals.

The Hand in Hand Outreach Program provides support services and community engagement events to children and families in our community. Working closely with the family, we connect them to internal resources, as well as other local agencies when additional support is needed. Some examples of Hand in Hand services are:
One on One Consultation to assess needs and create an action plan.
Rental and Utilities Assistance
Emergency Food Boxes for individuals and families in emergency situations
Clothing Giveaway - available for families with children living in the home
School Outreach - middle school academic support group that meets weekly at the Carl Gibson Center in Everett. Transportation can be provided if needed.

Pandemic EBT, or P-EBT, is a program that provides food benefits to children who had limited onsite meals at their school or child care center due to the COVID-19 pandemic. P-EBT benefits have helped Washington families affected by these closures to buy food since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. FNS approved Washington state to provide P-EBT benefits in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years. As the pandemic evolved, so did P-EBT, and its requirements from FNS change with each year
