Cocoon House provides short and long-term housing to homeless young people ages 12-17 years old and their children. Providing much more than a safe place to sleep, teens receive help engaging in school, preparing for employment, life and enrichment skills, and help to access community services on and off-site, while planning for long-term housing.

21-day stay confidential Emergency Shelter for homeless or runaway teens ages 13-17. 9 warm beds, home-cooked meals, showers, laundry services, a clothing closet, and case management to help you find permanent housing.


WHATCOM COUNTY

The PAD is an emergency housing program in Bellingham that offers housing for 13-17 year-olds. There is no application required, but a formal intake process with our staff is necessary.

Providing basic needs resources for young adults experiencing homelessness including shelter, food, showers, laundry, clothing, and hygiene materials. Open 7 days a week.

Line-up begins at 8:30 p.m. and Intake begins at 8:45 p.m.

KING COUNTY

Overnight shelter is open every night from 8:00 pm - 7:30 am for young adults ages 18-24. Services include meals, computers, laundry, showers, clothing, medical care, pet food, lockers, case management, ID's, legal aid.

Overnight Shelter for young adults ages 18-24. Services include meals, computers, laundry, showers, clothing, medical care, mental health, chemical dependency, case management, ID's.


ROOTS | 206-632-1635 |  4541 19th Ave NE, Seattle

ROOTS provides safe emergency overnight shelter for young adults ages 18-25. People seeking overnight shelter can call (206) 632-1635 or come to our door between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM and ask to be put on the list.

Federal definition of Homelessness

The McKinney-Vento Act defines homeless children as "individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence."

The MKV Act provides examples of children who would fall under this definition, including children and youth who are: 

*Parents who report their child(ren) as homeless are declaring under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the information they provide the District is true and correct in accordance with this definition.
