• How did you approach coming up with a design for your challenge? What was your design process?

  • For example, did you spend time brainstorming before starting? Did you finish a tutorial with the component before coming up with more complex behavior? 

For me and Ella challenge we chose to utilize the Bluetooth features of the Bluefruit the way we approach coming up with a design was reading example documentation about the bluetooth on a Circuit Playground Bluefruit. So, we were looking at other people use the bluetooth feature and we found documentation on downloading an app to be able to control the color of the neopixel. This lead to us being more confused because we had trouble connecting the bluefruit to the phone and once we were able to connect the bluefruit to the phone we got even more confused. We weren't able to get far with the lab because there was not any more documentation we could find that could help. Most of our design process was research and looking up documentation. 

• What issues and challenges did you encounter? How did you get around those obstacles? 

The issues we faced was trying to connect the bluefruit to the phone. On the app there was no connection service to the bluefruit, but the way we got around this was reconnecting the device on the audrino software and that seem to help. The other issue we face was once we were able to connect the bluefruit to the phone we didn't know where to go to change the neopixel. There was a neopixel section on the app and we went to it but that wasn't where we needed to be. The way we got around this was looking on google instead of the adafruit website and it guide us to the right section on the app but once we were at the right section the neopixel strip was not responding to the color change on the app when I would select to a different color. This is where we stop in the lab and we were able to get over this obstacle. 

• What changes would you make on a future iteration of your project? 

Ella and I didn't get in that far into the Challenge section of the lab so for future iteration I would like to pick up where Ella and I left off at which was trying to get the neopixel strip to response to the color change on the app.
