Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we close out a wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This year has been filled with growth, joy, and so many meaningful moments—all made possible because of the incredible support from our Upchurch community. I’m especially grateful for our amazing Leaper families. Your partnership, encouragement, and care have meant more than you know.
While I’ll be moving on to a new building next year, the memories and relationships from these past six years will always stay with me. It has been one of the greatest honors of my career to serve this community and be part of your children’s lives.
As we navigate this administrative transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. You’re welcome to contact both Dr. Manzitto and me—we’re here to help. Dr. Manzitto will also be reaching out later this summer with back-to-school information.

Wishing you and your family a joyful, restful summer!
With appreciation,

Wednesday was a beautiful day for a picnic! It is an Upchurch tradition that continues to be a special time full of good food and family fun.
Mr. Barnes organizes the best Field Days -- even on windy days! We had to switch the blow-up obstacle course/slides to the gym, and Mr. Barnes had to replace that station the day before, but the show went on and was a great day! Thank you to everyone that volunteered, supervised, and showed up to enjoy the fun.
Tunnel Walk is a fun tradition at Upchurch. Leaper and our fifth graders walk through the school, followed by high school seniors who once attended Upchurch. We wish all our fifth graders best wishes as they make the leap into middle school next year!
Math Olympiad is a contest for elementary and middle schools and includes participants from all 50 states, 3 US territories, and 30 foreign countries. In all there are 4,061 teams and approximately 90,000 participants.
Upchurch has had 4th and 5th grade students take part in this competion the last few years. This year we expanded from one team to two teams, so we had a separate team for 4th and 5th grade students. For the elementary school level this year, we had:
3 students in the top 20 %: Kaelum C., Sutton M., and Austin A.
3 students in the top 25%: Ethan T., Maddisen J., and Ejla C.
2 students in the top 30%: Alex L. and Summer C.
3 students in the top 40%: Grant D., Audrey D., and Brayden S.
11 students in the top 50%: Olivia G., Braydon B., Marshall G., Heath E., Jaelyn A., Brynlynn B., Diva T., Jada B., Aurelia D., Harper D., Levi T.
Congratulations, Mathematicians!
