Dear Leaper Families,
Warm greetings! As we look forward to Spring Break, we're excited to share an overview of the upcoming end-of-year Leaper events in April and May. Be sure to mark your calendars!

When students return from break, we will begin additional state and district testing. A good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast will help students perform at their best. This is a great opportunity to celebrate their hard work and growth throughout the year.
Once testing is complete, we’ll turn our focus to many cherished traditions and exciting events. Keep checking the Google Calendar for updates!

If you are signed up for a WatchDOG/SuperMOM shift and it no longer works in your schedule, please email Mrs. Mildenberger at eamildenberger@mpsomaha.org as soon as possible. A lot of time and attention is put in the schedules. A change in parent volunteers will need to go through the school. We have a waiting list of volunteers that we will contact to fill the spot. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email Mrs. Mildenberger to be added. When a cancellation occurs, the waiting list will be contacted in the order in which you asked to be put to the waiting list.

Dear Parents / Guardians,
As a reminder, we will soon be completing the state test, NSCAS Growth. The Nebraska Department of Education requires testing in English Language Arts and Mathematics for students in Grades 3 - 5 as well as Science in Grade 5.
As a follow up from Fall and Winter testing, we will be administering the MAP Growth test in the spring for all students in grades K - 5 in Reading and Mathematics.
Student reports for both tests will be sent home when available.

We have an update regarding our fifth-grade graduation and Tunnel Walk dates. As a district, Tunnel Walks must be scheduled between May 20–22. High school seniors will not be able to return to their elementary schools on May 23 due to graduation rehearsals.
We have an update regarding our fifth-grade graduation and Tunnel Walk dates. As a district, Tunnel Walks must be scheduled between May 20–22. High school seniors will not be able to return to their elementary schools on May 23 due to graduation rehearsals.
To align with this requirement, we are moving both the fifth-grade party and Tunnel Walk to Thursday, May 22 from 3:15-3:30 PM.

Other 5th Grade News:
May 2nd 12:00-2:40 -- Middle School Orientation: Buses will be available for Upchurch students going to Andersen Middle School. For students going to other middle schools, it is the responsibility of the parent to organize transportation. Middle schools provide letters/messages to fifth grade families with transition information including transportation details. All middle schools serve lunch during this transition event. The elementary schools take care of the lunch charge at their buildings. Â
