We’re excited to connect with you during Parent-Teacher Conferences next week! The sign-up period has closed, and we’re ready to partner with you to discuss your child’s progress.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:
March 10 & 11 from 4:15–8:15 PM

To make the most of these valuable conversations, our School Improvement Team — which includes input from both staff and parents — has outlined a few helpful guidelines and suggestions:

Upchurch Parent-Teacher Conference Norms:

• In-Person Conferences: We look forward to meeting face-to-face to discuss your child’s learning journey and celebrate their accomplishments.

• Focused Conversations: For the most effective discussion, we encourage conferences to be just between parents and teachers. While this isn’t required, it allows for a more focused conversation. We understand this may not be possible for everyone, so please do what works best for your family.

• Scheduled Times: Conferences will take place during the designated evening time slots. If you’re unable to attend, teachers will send home important updates about your child’s progress. Unfortunately, meetings outside of these scheduled times won’t be available.

Upcoming No School Dates:

• No school: March 13, 14, and 17

• Spring Break: April 7–11

The Southside Orchestra Festival is next week on Tuesday, March 4th at Millard Central Middle School, 12801 L Street, Omaha, NE 68137. This collaborative concert includes Orchestra students from 6th Grade at Central Middle, Andersen Middle, and 5th grade Orchestra students from Holling Heights, Norris, Hitchcock, Sandoz, Disney, Bryan, Rockwell, Upchurch and Neihardt.

To register your student for this concert, please complete this online form ASAP.

Schedule:

5:20 pm, 5th graders arrive

5:30 pm, rehearsal begins

6:30 pm, snack and doors open for concert

7:00 pm, concert begins

Other Details:

• Students are to be dropped off in the front of the building.

• Due to student safety, parents are not allowed into the school until 6:30 pm.

• Most parking available will be in the West upper lot off of N Street and you can enter through door 5.

• Bring a folding music stand if you have one at home, music, and instrument.

• Make sure ALL belongings (stand, case, music, etc.) are labeled with the student's name.

CONCERT ATTIRE:

Please wear a school t-shirt, if you have one.  Jeans or other pants are fine!
