Welcome Back, educators! My name is Tyler Jachim and I am the District Program Facilitator at the Professional Instruction Center (PIC). For those of you who are new to the district, PIC is where the Special Education department’s instructional, curriculum, and evaluation resources live. The purpose of this email is to provide some guidance with regards to PD options for special education teachers. Below you will find information about what instructional PDs are being offered and recommended by the SPED Department. Below you will find these recommendations as well as what population of educators these PDs are most likely to apply to.
Keep in mind the Special Education Department is offering additional training than what is outlined below. The course recommendations should be viewed as instructional practices the SPED department would like teachers to prioritize. As always, use your expertise and knowledge about what you and your students need to have a successful school year. This is just a guide to help you make those decisions and get a sense of prioritized programs the SPED Department offers to support you and your students. Below you will find training opportunities sorted by grades and content areas. Finally, please bring your district provided laptop. Some trainings will need you to have your device to fully participate in the PD process. Below are the links referenced above:
