ABSTRACT
The objective of this research was to examine the correlation between the academic success of students in Grades 7 and 8 at PENABUR International School in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the instructional techniques employed by their teachers. The research aimed to determine the extent to which teachers utilized various teaching philosophies, the disparities in perception between teachers and students, and the academic performance of the students. Both teachers and students were provided with survey questionnaires as part of a quantitative research approach. The findings revealed significant differences in the opinions of teachers and students regarding teaching approaches. Additionally, the research indicated that teaching methods could potentially impact students' academic achievements, highlighting the need for an intervention program. The study recommends the implementation of frequent feedback mechanisms, teacher training, open and honest conversations between educators and students, among other strategies.
