LT: I can demonstrate my understanding of wave physics by designing and constructing an escape room that incorporates these principles effectively.
I'm really disappointed in myself on this one. I really thought that I was gonna do good on this one because I know the material and all of the questions. I got 7/9 correct, and I thought that was enough for a meets, but it turns out that that's not true. I got an approaching on the quiz and I'm really ashamed and embarrassed of myself. At the beginning of the year, I made a goal to get all meets and exceeds, but now I have three approachings. I really want to try and do better for the next quiz, and I will get a meets next time.
Much like the reader's log in Humanities, The anchor chart was used every day we learned a new lesson in science. We would take that new information and record it here, on our anchor chart. We had the choice to make digital copies or hard copies which could be drawn and written out. I decided to make a digital copy because I'm better at typing than writing. I got a meets on my anchor chart even though I turned it in late. Another reason we used anchor charts was so we could use them to study for quizzes and tests. We could even refer to them on quizzes, which was super helpful.
I had a lot of fun with this exhibition. Making an escape room seemed really challenging at first, but once you learned how it was gonna work, it wasn't really that bad. Before we started building, we had to learn about different kinds of waves, like light, sound, and color waves. We learned about how light waves can be manipulated a number of ways, such as through absorption, reflection, and refraction. Once we finished learning about waves, we started building. We had to make two clues telling the players about what we learned, and then we had to make two puzzles connected to our clue in some way. We also had to make a decorative artifact to help the players understand the setting. I made two fairly simple ones, but I accidentally threw one away, so the one in the picture is the only one left. The people who played my escape room did make it out, but they got confused on my group member's puzzle at the last second. I got an exceeds and I'm so proud of myself. I also hope to get an exceeds on the next exhibition too, which is about physics.
