Internships are a week-long activity that 8th graders complete. it involves writing, refining, and presenting a resume and cover letter to your company of choice. Wherever you choose to work, it should be somewhere that has activities or services that you are interested in, now or for your future life. Keeping that in mind, make sure that it is still a learning experience, and you don't know everything about what you are doing.

I interned at the Smiley Café, which is part of the Smiley building. The reason I chose the Smiley Café as my internship is because I really enjoy working with food, and drink, and due to this, wanted to expand my knowledge and experience by working in a professional setting. I think that this experience gave me exactly what I was looking for, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and information I gained.

While interning at the Smiley Cafe, I mostly had the opportunity to work the cash register. Along with this, I got to make a few boba drinks, and lattes. I also made a ton of panini wraps, quiches, and soups. (Mostly heated up the soups and quiches) I also gave people their baked goods, and served drip coffee.

During my internship at the Smiley Cafe, I learned a ton of customer service skills, which will be very useful in the future. I also learned how to professionally interact with other staff members and the manager/owner. I grew a lot in my expertise while working with valuable skills such as efficiency, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Overall experience
Overall experience
I think that my experience while interning at the Smiley Cafe was very positive, and an overall educational experience, not just food/drink-wise, but also with usage of Habits of Heart and Mind, which are extremely important for any task you ever complete in your life. I loved this experience, and would love to have another chance to intern somewhere in town. I am also excited to annouce that I will most likely be doing a summer job there!
