Year Summary
In Humanities we learned about storytelling and it's impacts on our past and modern world. We also learned about the evolution of storytelling and how it has changed over time. We were also learning about geography and human migration. In ELA, we learned about writing narratives from different perspectives. We also learned about figurative language, figures of speech, characterization, plot structures, storylines, and setting.
Humanities Smart Goal
In order to expand my working vocabulary before the end of the year, I will read more varieties of books, including non-fiction. I will track my progress by writing down my vocabulary words on a chart and reference it frequently.
Goal Reflection
My goal was to read non-fiction books to expand my working vocabulary before the end of the year. I was inspired to make this reading goal because I started to use very complex vocabulary in my writing and speech this year. To be honest, I forgot about my goal. I was not thinking about it and I did not read any non-fiction books. Although I have read more than 12 books since the beginning of the year, but, they were all dystopian, fantasy or mystical genres. I am going to go to the library to get non-fiction books and read them. I love to read, but non-fiction is not my biggest interest, so I easily forgot about this goal.
