Writing & Spelling

Spelling:

Spelling supports students' reading and writing skills. Students keep track of words they commonly misspell in their writing notebooks. Their own personalized spelling list. They are encouraged to use those lists to help spell those words correctly in their every day writing. Then, about once a month we will take our lists and check in to see which words they now know. Each month we'll try to create a new spelling list for each student. The goal is not to pass a test using a random list. The ultimate goal is to spell words correctly in their every day life (ex: assignments, letters, emails, web searches, etc...).
