Hi! My name is Ariel Starzinski and I will be your child's fifth grade teacher this year. This is my fifth year of teaching at Valentine Hills. I completed my Masters in Education at Hamline University in 2016. I am passionate about integrating arts, science and engineering into daily classroom learning.
I am a parent to two boys, Breccan and Teague, who are twelve and ten years old. We love exploring new outdoor places, and make it a point to visit the Minnesota State Parks and trails as often as possible. We also have a dog named Ella, who is six years old and loves to explore with us. We live in New Brighton, MN. This summer, our family took a road trip and visited the Oregon Coast, Redwoods National Park, and Crater Lake National Park. I can't wait to share photos and stories of all the amazing animals, plants and places we got to see!
In my free time, I keep myself busy with running, writing and theater. I like to log plenty of long distance miles, and am currently training for the Twin Cities 10 mile race this October. I am an avid writer, and focus most of my energy on memoir and prose, with a little bit of poetry tossed in for good measure. When I'm not spending my time on the road or at my writing desk, you can find me at HUGE Improv theater, fueling my passion for creating art onstage.
Open communication between school and home is really important to me. I enjoy working closely with you as a learning team to help your child grow and love learning. If you need to reach me please email (which is the best way to get a hold of me), call, or send a note. Calling the office 651-621-7800 is the fastest way to get a message to your child during the school day.
