I am so excited to continue working at Valentine Hills. This will be my 12th year teaching and I have learned so much from the educators, parents and students I have had the fortune to cross paths with.

I started my teaching career in St. Paul, moved to Stillwater Public schools and I have been in our wonderful Mounds View district for 5 years now. I have taught many grade levels including Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th grade. I have been a classroom teacher for 11 of the 12 years and had the opportunity to work in a reading intervention roll in fifth grade at Valentine Hills a few years back.

I live in Stillwater with my two amazing children Ben (5) and Abby (3). Ben loves to get outside and swing from the monkey bars until he gets blisters. Abby loves to read books, make a mess and follow her older brother everywhere he goes. They are the most fun and give me great joy on a daily basis. I love being a dad and am very grateful I get to call them my own.

When I am not thinking about my students or preparing for teaching I love being with my kids. We like to go to the park, create artwork and make up silly games together. When I am not with them I play sports (flag football, swimming, running and golf), read good books, watch quality cinema and get together with friends. All 3 of us like to eat delicious food and go on adventures (especially Grandma's house).

Communication

Communication between home and school is important to me. I enjoy working with you as a learning team to help your child grow this year in 5th grade. As a parent you are a vital part of a successful school year and discussing successes, questions and or concerns will help your child get what they need to be their best.

E-mail is the best way to reach me but you can also call, or send a note. Calling the main office 651-621-7800 is the fastest way to get a message to your child during the school day.
