SESSION 12: FIELD VISIT, FIELD REPORT WRITING AND PRESENTAITON (12 DAYS)
(Resource person: Tashi Wangchuk & Sangay Choden)
In this session, participants will have the opportunity to choose a heritage site for a field visit. During the visit, they will apply the techniques and knowledge gained from earlier lectures to assess the site, conduct surveys, and gather information for a comprehensive proposal. Participants will use methods such as structural analysis, documentation, conservation planning, and risk assessment to evaluate the site’s current condition and formulate a conservation strategy. Following the visit, participants will compile a detailed report, incorporating all aspects of the heritage site’s conservation needs, from the physical condition to cultural value, and propose appropriate conservation measures. This hands-on exercise will provide participants with practical experience in integrating theory and practice to create a robust conservation proposal.
