The training program on Heritage Conservation and Management is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for the preservation and sustainable management of cultural heritage sites.
The program begins with an Introduction to Cultural Heritage (Session 1), establishing the significance of heritage and its values. This is followed by a session on the Legal and Institutional Framework (Session 2), covering international conventions and national regulations governing heritage conservation.
A detailed understanding of Conservation of Heritage Buildings (Session 3) is provided, laying the foundation for practical aspects of Survey and Documentation (Sessions 4 & 5), where participants engage in hands-on documentation exercises.
Structural Assessment (Session 6) focuses on evaluating the stability and safety of traditional structures, leading into Designing Conservation Projects (Session 7) and Implementation Strategies (Session 8) to ensure effective interventions.
Risk preparedness is addressed in the Disaster Risk Management Plan for Heritage Sites (Session 9), followed by Heritage Site Management Planning (Session 10), which integrates conservation, sustainability, and community involvement.
For technical proficiency, Structural Analysis for Traditional Structures and BSR (Session 11) offers insights into engineering aspects of heritage conservation. The program culminates in Field Visits, Report Writing, and Presentations (Sessions 12 & 13), reinforcing theoretical knowledge through practical engagement and critical assessment.
