KAT -Personalisation

What is personalisation?

Fostering of student agency by giving choice in the learning goals, process and pace through digital resources.

How do we promote personalisation with technology?

Technology enhances the personalisation process by allowing students to choose their learning goals, process and pace. Personalised learning is a spectrum. As studens become more self-directed over time, more agency can be transferred to the students to co-design the lessons with teacher and eventually, design their own learning experiences.

Ways by which technology can be leveraged to enable personalisation:

●Adaptivity and non-linear accessibility of learning resources to allow for students’ choice.

●Capturing data for analysis with relevant resources pushed to learners accordingly to support their conceptual development and reflection.

●Digital tools to allow learners to generate multimodal, open-end products.

●Tracking learning progress through achievement data.

Examples

To promote thinking and discussion, students are provided with choice and non-linear access to learning resources. Learning data captured with analysis allows for relevant resources to be accessed by learners, hence keeping them engaged. Students are also given opportunities to access learning resources at their own pace.

●Students are guided to craft prompts (e.g., specific and concise, include format of response) to use generative AI tools as a knowledgeable other and sounding board to enhance their learning processes and creation of artefacts.
