We bid farewell to our graduating cohort as their time in Springfield Secondary School finally draws to a close. The ceremony was held virtually where videos were pre-recorded and the graduands were decked in a plethora of colours, each representing the colour chosen by their class. When assembled together, it aims to reflect a rainbow, a symbol of hope and triumph. The graduands were reminded of the school value of “Resilience”, as they have overcome many obstacles to get to where they are now. After all, rainbows shine the brightest after a thunderstorm.
Muhammad Luqman Zulkhairi from Sec 4F said,
“I feel sorrowful that I am leaving Springfield where I was not only able to learn a lot but have also made many good friends. One dream I have for the future is to pursue a degree in mechatronics and I hope that I am able to expand my social circle in polytechnic and university.”
The Outstanding Student Award recipient, Shavin Kumar from Sec 4E divulges his secret for success was,
“Hard work. There is always something new to learn every day and I strive to be a better version of myself”.
Shavin is a strong believer in putting in effort and reaping the fruits of your labour as he knows that he is the master of his own fate.
Joanne Chung from Sec 4D who is another recipient of the Outstanding Student Award mentions that,
“Perseverance is the key to success, no matter how you fall. You need to learn to pick yourself up fast”.
Joanne has been diligent and her perseverance is indeed admirable. Springfielders can definitely learn from her work ethic.
To our graduating cohort, this is not the end but the beginning of bigger and more exciting things that lie ahead. Set your goals high and always dream big. We hope that you will cherish the memories made in Springfield. All the best to our graduating cohort in their future endeavours.
