The Swiss Show Choir has always expressed its love for music through song and dance. Starting its journey as a traditional choir decades ago, the choir's new direction towards blooming into a show choir, started in 2016. Since then, we have expanded our repertoire of skills in choral singing and show choir performances, in order to make singing and dancing a reality for any passionate student. Be it classical singing, hip hop dancing or beat boxing, everyone has a part to play in our family. Because in the world of music, no one should be left behind. This is the spirit of the Swiss Show Choir: One Voice, One Heart.
2019 was a year of breakthroughs for the choir, as it took up the challenge of performing a Filipino classic and a Tamil, tongue twister-like folk rendition at the Singapore Youth Festival, together with dance moves. Despite the cultural breadth and the vocal depth of the song choices, the Swiss Show Choir members entertained their audience with an exhilarating performance with a constant smile on their faces. This is testimony to the unwavering passion of the students. The year continued on to be an eventful one, with the choir's hard work and performance at the B-dazzled Show Choir Festival 2019, during which the choir of 60 plus members staged the evergreen song, 'Somebody to Love,' by Queen and won the Diamond Award. This is the third Diamond Award for the Swiss Show Choir, since its debut at the B-dazzled Show Choir Festival in 2016.
As long as the passion for music exists, challenges and limitations cannot break the spirit of the Swiss Show Choir. This passion is what keeps the choir alive.
