In Girl Guides, the students are involved in a variety of activities and programmes which inculcate values of resilience, teamwork as well as the Dare To Try spirit.
The core 5 Point Programme seeks to develop vital leadership and life skills, while the attainment of proficiency badges allow the girls to venture out of their comfort zone and explore new interests. Participation in Headquarter (HQ) and West Division events such as World Thinking day, West Division Day, and West Division Heritage Trail also provide opportunities for the girls to hone their skills and forge meaningful connections with their peers.
Under the theme of ‘Girls Leading Change’, our Guides demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills by setting up a games booth during the 2019 World Thinking Day Celebration Roadshow and Carnival to help raise funds for the Guiding movement.
Besides these HQ organised activities, the Guides take on advocacy and VIA projects to carry out positive actions and make a lasting impact on the larger community. This year, the Sec 3 Guides embarked on a self-initiated advocacy project to raise awareness about water conservation among the school population, while the Sec 1 Guides interacted with the elderly at Hong Kah North day Care Centre through a variety of games and activities. With strong dedication and active participation, the Swiss Guides 1st Coy managed to clinch the Puan Noor Aishah Gold Award.
