The Swiss Flames, as the Badminton students called themselves, kept the passion for the sport high in 2019, both on the court and off the court. We have maintained our top 4 position in the West Zone B Division Championship and are confident that we will perform even better in the coming year.
To ensure that our students are developed holistically, we also embarked in projects that not only helped to improve the students' leadership and organisational skill, but also benefit the community. One such project is the Swiss Invitational Badminton Championship for primary school students. Through this event, our member came together to organise an event where they are exposed to various tournament formats, formed specific working groups to execute various tasks, and at the same time being a good role model for their juniors from the primary school.
To further strengthen camaraderies and network among schools and fellow badminton players, the Swiss Flames also organised an invitational championship for secondary schools in the West Zone. This event has been received well by the various schools involved as it gives a valuable competitive experience to many CCA members who may not have the chance to officially represent their school in the National School Games.
