The SCGS Choir (SChoir) strives towards choral excellence. Besides working on tone production, breathing and other singing techniques, it is also about working together as an ensemble to produce great music. Other than choral training, the SCGS choir members also learn about stage production - basic choreography and acting as they stage their own original musical annually with all music and lyrics written by the students themselves. Choir members also have the option to sign up for the Trinity College Graded Voice Exams.
Aside from the Biennial Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation, the SChoir takes part in competitions such as the Interkulture choir festivals and have exchanges as well as combined performances with other schools such as the Catholic High School Choir, among others.
SChoir is also active in performing at public events, ranging from community celebrations to interactive sessions at the National Gallery. They also do community service by singing in Homes or Eldercare Centres, bringing cheer and engaging the elderly in song.

2025 CCA Experience
2025 was a harmonious journey for SC Choir, marked by music, camaraderie, and growth. The year began with a vibrant performance at the Orientation Concert, and later on in the year, spirited performances for a National Day community event at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, as well as a dynamic Teacher’s Day performance in school.
The most significant milestone was the Singapore Youth Festival, where months of dedication culminated in a performance that resulted in a Distinction award. These pieces later returned to the stage at AURALIS: Beyond the Stars, the school’s Performing Arts Festival, where the repertoire was paired with Wicked favourites for a heartfelt and bittersweet Secondary 4 swan song.
The choir’s musical horizons were also broadened through exchanges with the Catholic High School Choir, St. Joseph Institution Choir, Paya Lebar MGS Choir, and St Anthony’s Convent Choir. All these collaborations offered opportunities to sing with different voice parts, learn new warm-ups, and refine vocal techniques. Beyond performances, the choir also grew closer at a memorable choir camp filled with laughter, bonding, and meaningful activities.
Every note sung this year carried not only melody, but also the fire of shared passion, the warmth of friendship, and the joy of unity in song. As 2025 draws to a close, the choir remains deeply grateful for the unwavering support it has received and looks forward to continuing its journey, growing ever stronger as one voice.
